 The community of Pinecrest is located in the Buckwalter area of Bluffton and is easily accessed from the Bluffton Parkway. With public schools, shopping and dining within easy reach, and the historic downtown area of Old Bluffton just down Scenic Rt 46, the location of the Pinecrest community is ideal.

Pinecrest offers an 18 hole Canongate affiliated golf course with full driving range. An on-site pro shop is available within the Community Clubhouse. Residents of Pinecrest have the option of a range of different Full and Social membership packages however membership is not mandatory. In addition to the golf amenities Pinecrest offers a fitness center, swimming pool, wading pool, tennis courts and even a playground for the little ones.
Pinecrest is made up of three neighborhoods with different characteristics. The Gables is made up of patio style homes with a smaller footprint. This style of home is favored by full time and part time residents alike. The Woodlands area of Pinecrest offers larger single family homes with golf and wooded views. Finally, The Crossings area offers larger 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes with lagoon and golf views. Located on close to the Pinecrest Community Center some homes will offer views of the clubhouse as well.

"Canongate at Pinecrest, which opened November 22, 2004, is dramatically different from anything that the current Hilton Head/Bluffton golf market offers. Presently, there are three types of golf courses: high-end private, public, and semiprivate.
The high-end private clubs, while beautiful, tend to be unaffordable for the average family. The public courses in Hilton Head and Bluffton are terrific, especially for tourism, but they are often flooded during the peak tourist seasons by the island’s seasonal visitors. Lastly, there are the semiprivate golf clubs that have both local and visiting golfers competing for the priority tee times.
Canongate at Pinecrest adds a new dimension of private golf by bringing to Bluffton the time-tested Canongate Concept—offering affordable private golf to the average person or family. A Canongate Membership includes your spouse and children, and they all enjoy access to the community’s pool, workout, basketball, playground, and tennis facilities. Just as importantly, Canongate members will never face assessments because they do not hold equity in the club, therefore members know exactly what they’ll be paying up front.
World-renowned golf course architect Rocky Roquemore crafted Canongate at Pinecrest, his first South Carolina Lowcountry design. Roquemore is known for co-designing three of the Disney World Courses (the Magnolia Course, the Buena Vista Course, and the Palm Course). He also has been the working golf course architect for Cog Hill in Chicago for the last 26 years. Perhaps most notably, he designed San Lorenzo Golf Club, the number two-rated course in Europe as rated by Golf World Magazine in 1995.
